Project Case

VOC Treatment System with RTO for Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

The system is designed to treat solvent-based VOC emissions generated during pharmaceutical production, including process reactions, formulation, and cleaning operations. These emissions typically contain a mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated organic compounds, requiring a multi-stage treatment system to ensure stable and compliant discharge under strict regulatory requirements.

Project Overview

Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Airflow Capacity: 30,000 NCMH

Pollutants: Toluene, Ethyl acetate, n-Heptane, Dichloromethane (pharmaceutical solvent VOCs)

Treatment System: Emergency Activated Carbon Box + Alkali Scrubber + Dehumidification & Filtration + RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer) + Quenching Tower + Secondary Scrubber

Application Overview

This project was developed for VOC emission control in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

System Configuration

The treatment system adopts a multi-stage VOC abatement process integrating adsorption, chemical scrubbing, thermal oxidation, and gas cooling.

Exhaust gas is first treated through an emergency activated carbon system and alkali scrubber for initial VOC buffering and safety control. The gas then passes through dehumidification and filtration before entering the RTO system for high-temperature thermal oxidation and complete destruction of organic pollutants.

After oxidation, the flue gas is cooled in a quenching tower and further treated in a secondary scrubbing stage to ensure emission stability and compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards.
